Our Purpose: Reaching and informing people for Christ through Information Technology.

Jesus commands us in Matthew 28:19-20 to “go and make disciples off all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

The Apostle Paul used the Roman roads of his day to travel and preach the Gospel to “all nations.”

Today, we have the most powerful communication platform that has ever existed in the Internet. God has given us the technology, it is up to us to use it for His purposes.

If you would like to be involved in "It at YC", there are many opportunities to serve in the area of information technology at Yosemite Church. We are a growing church with growing IT needs. Our goal is to keep the church and ministry leaders informed to better “meet people where they are and love them to where Christ wants them to be.”

Development Team - The development team is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of our internet and intranet sites. YC also maintains a third-party membership database. The development team also develops queries and reports to meet varying staff needs. If you have a passion for computers and a knack for programming, this might be the team for you.

Here are just some of the skills we would love to have onboard:

  • SQL Server
  • Access
  • SQL (Structured Query Language)
  • Active Server Pages
  • HTML
  • Visual Basic, VB Script, JavaScript
  • Adobe Photoshop or other Imaging Software
  • Photography
  • And more...
Server/Networking Team - The networking team provides the technical skills necessary to setup, configure and troubleshoot YC’s different servers including Exchange Server, Windows 2000 Server & IIS. If you have experience setting up a Windows 2000 Server and managing users and groups, this might be the team for you. If you speak in acronyms like TCP/IP, PDC or IIS, this is probably the team for you.
Hardware Team - The hardware team provides the skill set necessary to keep the church’s computers running efficiently. Some duties might include swapping out bad hard drives or CD-ROM drives or occasionally upgrading a memory chip. If you enjoy opening up the computer case and getting your hands inside and fixing things, this may be a fit. The hardware team also makes recommendations on new computer purchases.
